Sergei Vasilyev Quintet to perform with jazz singer Sharón Clark and trumpeter Ted Wilson

On August 24, day two of the Koktebel Jazz Party, Sergei Vasilyev's quintet with jazz singer Sharón Clark and trumpeter Ted Wilson will perform on the Main Stage.

"Only American compositions will be performed today. We will play compositions of such vocalists as Nancy Wilson and Shirley Horn, who are undeservingly neglected in Russia," contrabass player Sergei Vasilyev said about the band's programme at the news conference.

Pianist Ivan Farmakovsky stressed that performing together with American musicians is very important for the band.

"Working together with great US performers is an invaluable experience," he said.

Sharón Clark and Ted Wilson commented on the high professional level of the Russian musicians.
