New York Latin Jazz All Stars: We are happy to have a chance to perform in Koktebel

"We perform all over the world — in China, Japan, Europe, we have been across the whole of the US and we are now very happy to come here, to have a chance to perform at the Koktebel Jazz Party," members of the New York Latin Jazz All Stars revealed at a news conference.

They stressed that they know many musicians who will perform at this year's festival.

"We even boarded the same plane to come here and discussed that we meet more often at some festivals in Europe than in New York, where many of us are based. It is great that there are such events as Koktebel Jazz Party, where we can meet and even play something together," the musicians said.

According to the band members, they have been together for 25 years already and they reinterpret great pieces by famous musicians: "The unifying element in the music we play is African motifs, their beat. We also take harmony from western music and add Latin American elements, which results in a mix of all directions, all styles and creates the final taste of our dish."

New York Latin Jazz All Stars promised that today in Koktebel they will play compositions stemming from jazz classics, and there will also be a couple of surprises depending on what the audience will enjoy the most.
