Justin Rothberg, a New York musician and participant in many projects, has worked with Matisyahu, Frank London, Luciana Souza and other prominent performers. He has toured a lot with concerts in the United States, Europe and Japan.
Justin's new album is an entirely original work that includes his own compositions. Though keeping an overall loyalty to jazz, he is not committed to any particular style. Old Business is both fusion and 100% post-bop mainstream and occasionally Latina. It combines solos with a well-orchestrated performance by a two-drummer rhythm section.
Old Business is energetic, creative and interesting. Time will show whether the stylistic diffuseness of his music will increase his band's audiences.
