The Festival

Koktebel Jazz Party

Koktebel Jazz Party is more than a music festival. It's a movement that makes this world a better place the way good music overturns drab standards. It's a world of smiling faces and joyful people escaping from the stilted and the tedious, from limits and kitsch into the heady freedom of dancing waves and salty air that blend in with the music liberating body and soul.

The festival gathers every September, when the memory of summer is still alive in the mind. The Jazz Party revives it, and its echoes warm your heart through the cold season.

Koktebel Jazz Party offers its waterside stages to stars and new and still unknown bands, all bathing in its friendliness as a multi-faceted panorama of contemporary music emerges. Its key mission is to reverse people's attitude to jazz and prove that it is not behind the times.

You can hardly find a person who has never heard of Koktebel Jazz Party. It owes popularity to its trademark open-heartedness and spontaneous international exchanges. It is the only musical event in the CIS that gathers people from all walks of life.

In 2014, Koktebel Jazz Party will be held on three platforms. The main open-air stage, located on the beach, will feature performances by the most prominent musicians. People will be able to enjoy the quality music, learn about contemporary jazz trends and listen to their favorite performers. The open stage will host first-time performances by young musicians. Another stage for those who like classical blues and jazz will open in front of the Maximilian Voloshin House Museum.

Koktebel Jazz Party charms even the most discerning music fans — just imagine how you dip into the warm quiet sea of the Indian summer to the mellow stirring sounds of jazz from the shore.
