Koktebel Jazz Party at Crimean Spring festival in Moscow

MOSCOW, March 16 — Koktebel Jazz Party Press Service. The Koktebel Jazz Party festival is taking place in Moscow on March 16-17 during the Crimean Spring festival in Zaryadye Park. This weekend, jazz musicians will perform in central Moscow.

"The KJP (Koktebel Jazz Party) company feels great at the Crimean Spring. We have traveled in time. Everybody feels the warmth of the Crimean sun, the sea, the spirit of Koktebel, jazz and inspiration. The program includes brilliant bands that are very popular with the public. We will have both Russian and foreign musicians on stage," said jazz musician, composer and arranger Sergei Golovnya.

He added that the audience would enjoy "performances by wonderful musicians, a great mood and a true jazz euphoria."

Crimea remains the main venue for Koktebel Jazz Party. This year, it will take place on August 23-25.

Festival Art Director Mikhail Ikonnikov noted that at Koktebel Jazz Party "90 percent of the audience are ordinary vacationers."

"We work mainly for a non-connoisseur audience and every year we get closer to it in order to arouse enthusiasm for the history of jazz," Ikonnikov said.

During the Koktebel Jazz Party at the Crimean Spring festival on March 16-17, the public enjoyed musical sets by the Ivanov Brothers' SymphoJazz, Esh (Brazil), Pyotr Vostokov's Big Jazz Band, Guru Groove Foundation, Billy's Band, Sergei Golovnya's jazz quartet and its soloist Karina Kozhevnikova as well as musicians from the United States and Germany.
