Vitaly Golovnev gathers band featuring outstanding musicians at Koktebel Jazz Party

For the second time, trumpeter Vitaly Golovnev chose a stellar lineup to perform at the Koktebel Jazz Party festival. The New York All Stars band features trombonist David Gibson, drummer Carl Allen, pianist Mike LeDonne, singer Denise King, and bassist Ben Wolfe.

"These are brilliant, outstanding musicians. I have known some of them for some time, while it will be my first performance with the others. But they have performed live together for a long time, and when they got the opportunity to play at the festival I got them all together," Golovnev said.

According to the trumpeter, this is his second time performing at the festival in Koktebel, and this time he will try to give even more joy to the audience.

"Last time, I presented musicians who played in this genre as well, but I am constantly learning new things and this show is going to be better and more impressive in terms of the arrangements and the musicianship," he stressed.

Today's performance will include a cover of a piece by Cedar Walton, a tune by Burt Bacharach, David Gibson's instrumental arrangement of a piece by Jimmy Van Heusen, and vocal pieces by Denise King, who also promised to pay tribute to the late great Aretha Franklin by performing one of her songs.
