SG Big Band to have a battle between the trumpeters during their improvising session

Sergei Golovnya's SG Big Band will present several different numbers for the audience at the Koktebel Jazz Party. The improvisations will be performed by musicians from groups of different musical instruments.

"Several groups of different instruments will all be improvising at the same time: the trombones, the sax players, and a couple of our young and talented trumpeters too. All of them will be improvising. During one part of all this the trumpeters will sound as if they're having a kind of battle," Sergei Golovnya said.

The musician also said that some of his own compositions will be performed at the festival for the first time, that were arranged by St Petersburg musician Sergei Bogdanov. "This is original music and it hasn't been played before, it is always interesting, always a novelty," Golovnya noted.

During the press conference, the musician also replied to a question on where he got his ideas from. "I am a believer. All ideas I get, I get from heaven," Sergei Golovnya said.
